January 23-27 5th Annual Yoga Workshop
with Chris Coniaris. Over the past couple of years this event has grown
to be the area's most popular yoga workshop among locals. Chris's love
of nature and endurance athletics have formed the foundation for his
refreshing approach to yoga. Bring your skis as this is peak season on

KNSC Wine & Cheese Tour. This year's tour is scheduled to take place
along the Look Out Mountain trail system. The self guided tour starts at
noon with a $15 member or a $20 non-member donation requested. This
annual event hosted by residents along the trail offers a chance to get
out and learn the trail system and meet the locals who maintain and
enjoy them. Snacks and drink provided for the whole family. Contact Dave

March 7; KNSC Junior Nordic Ultima
& Wooden Ski Classic. This family event combines the culmination of the
season's Junior Nordic program and the interests of the traditionalists.
There are races of various lengths for all ages, food, and other fun
events. The 2K Wooden Ski race adds a sense tradition with prizes for
oldest skis and best traditional attire.
March 8 Saturday KNSC Kachemak Marathon.
This 21K and 42K freestyle race has, over the years, come to be known as
one of the most challenging courses in the State attracting both novice

June 15-22 Alaska Yoga and
Adventure with Chris Coniaris
has been an avid practitioner of Hatha and Raja Yoga since 1989. His
meditation experience and lifelong love of nature, philosophy, and
athletics enrich his teaching. His classes place an emphasis on a focus
within and deep relaxation. He is sought out for the depth, clarity, and
inspiration evident in his teaching. It is his affinity for the outdoors
and his love of nature that bring him back to Alaska again and again.
Chris teaches workshops, teacher trainings, and private sessions around
the country in addition to his weekly classes in Tucson, Arizona.
What to Expect:
- One to two daily classes exploring
yoga through the asanas (postures), pranayama (breath), meditation, and
philosophy.
- Seven nights accommodations at
Twin Creeks Trailhead Lodge.
- Two dinners and three brunches.
- Two guided trips across Kachemak
Bay; one, a scenic hike to Grewingk Glacier, and another to Kayak the
protected waters across the bay. No experience is necessary.
- Ample leisure time to enjoy the
wildflowers along the Homestead Trail, view wildlife, hike the local
beaches, or visit the art galleries in town.
